Little Colorado River Gorge Navajo Tribal Park
The Little Colorado River (LCR) Goerge is a dramatic canyon on the northern side of Arizona, stretching over 50 miles and plunging depths of up to 3,000 feet. Visitors can experience a deep, narrow gorge were the cliffs come alive with vibrant shades of red, orange, and cream colors. The fine layers of limestone and sandstone catch the sunlight, creating a tapestry of colors textures along the canyon walls. Scenic viewpoints offer breathtaking views of the gorge with cliff-edge vistas that rival Grand Canyon’s East Rim- without the crowds. that serves as a popular stop for travelers exploring the region on their way to and from the East entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park.
Shadow Mountain Viewpoint
Located just miles West of Cameron, AZ on Highway 64. The viewpoint offers short paths leading from parking areas to the blue-railed viewing platforms hovering over more than 3,000 feet/914 m above the riverbed. Interpretive panels explain the geology and the Dine’ cultural ties to this rugged landscape.

October – March: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Daily, Monday – Sunday.
April – September: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Daily, Monday – Sunday.
Entry Fee
Park Entry Fee to the Overlook: $8.00 per person, per day, donations accepted. Up to overlooks only. National Park Passes are not accepted. as we are Navajo Tribal Parks and subject to Navajo Nation Laws. Enter all tribal park locations at your own risk.
Amenities
Waterless Restrooms, picnic tables, ramadas, interpretive panels, accessible parking spaces, outdoor, exercise equipment, hiking trails and local vendors selling authentic Navajo jewelry and crafts. You are welcome to purchase jewelry created by local vendors.
Backcountry Permits: are issued upon request at all Navajo Nation Tribal Park locations. Please let us know what location you are going to hike. $15.00 per person. Additional Fees may apply. Pack in, Pack-out all trash. Leave no trace. We ask that you keep the area clean for the next traveler.
