We do not arrange for river trips down the San Juan River, but you will need to purchase a permit from Navajo Parks & Recreation if you plan to camp along the river on the southside, this area is part of the Navajo Reservation.

There are Navajo families who live nearby, so please camp with respect to the environment. Thank you

BACKCOUNTRY HIKING AND CAMPING FEES
A backcountry use permit is required for hiking.
$5/day per person
Camping fees are also in effect.
$5/night per person

FISHING & HUNTING LICENSES top of page
A permit is required for fishing any lakes or streams, and also for hunting for game on lands under the jurisdiction of the Navajo Nation.  Permits, fees and dates can be obtained from the Fish and Wildlife Department.
