County, tribe partner on tourist site improvements

Last year, three popular tourist sites on the Navajo Nation received new amenities thanks to a partnership between the tribal government and Coconino County. New ramadas, picnic tables and interpretive panels were installed at Grand Falls near Leupp, the Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park near Cameron and Antelope Canyon, in the Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park.

Waterless restrooms also were built at the Grand Falls site.

Before, those areas had no such infrastructure, said Effie Yazzie, park manager for the Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park.
